Sachin Tendulkar's Investment Returns Outpace Mitchell Starc's IPL Earnings, According to Reports.

Former Indian captain Sachin Tendulkar is reported to have reaped substantial financial gains, amounting to ₹26.5 crore, following a sevenfold increase in the value of his investments in Azad Engineering.

Tendulkar had initially invested ₹5 crore, acquiring 4.3 lakh shares at ₹114.10 each, in the defense equipment manufacturing company in March 2023. The value of this investment soared to approximately ₹31.55 crore after the company was listed on the stock exchange on Thursday, December 28. According to reports from DNA, Azad Engineering's stocks experienced a growth of 29.21 percent, reaching ₹677.10 per share, with the company's market valuation surpassing ₹4000 crore. The National Stock Exchange and Bombay Stock Exchange witnessed a trading volume of 1.51 crore and 7.80 lakh shares, respectively.

Sachin Tendulkar's lucrative financial move outshines Mitchell Starc's recent achievement of becoming the costliest player in Indian Premier League history. The Kolkata Knight Riders franchise spent ₹24.75 crore to secure the services of the experienced Australian pacer.

Notably, other renowned sports personalities like VVS Laxman, PV Sindhu, and Saina Nehwal have also invested in Azad Engineering. The company specializes in supplying products to global Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in the defense, aerospace, oil, and gas industries.

Sachin Tendulkar, serving as a mentor for the Mumbai Indians in recent years, boasts an estimated net worth of ₹1350 crore in 2023.

In a separate development, Tendulkar praised South Africa's bowling unit for their performance in the Test opener against India, where the Proteas secured victory by an innings and 32 runs in Centurion. Tendulkar commended India's batters KL Rahul and Virat Kohli for their resilience and acknowledged the noteworthy contributions of Dean Elgar, Marco Jansen, and David Bedingham. Despite a challenging track, Tendulkar observed that only a few batters, including Elgar, Jansen, Bedingham, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul, demonstrated comfort with the bat, showcasing adept technique and composure throughout the Test.

The two teams are scheduled to face each other in the second Test at Newlands in Cape Town on January 3, 2024.
